Test Parameters available on the Multistix 10 SG Reagent Strip
Can be used to test:
- Leukocytes - When this test is positive and/or the WBC count in urine is high, it may indicate that there is inflammation in the urinary tract or kidneys
- Nitrites - Normal urine contains chemicals called nitrates. If bacteria enter the urinary tract, nitrates can turn into different, similarly named chemicals called nitrites. Nitrites in urine may be a sign of a urinary tract infection (UTI)
- Blood (b): Serious infections of the kidneys or urinary tract, urolithiasis suspected renal or bladder neoplasms
- Bilirubin (bil): Liver disease, hemolytic anemia, and blockage of the bile ducts
- Urobilinogen (uro): Signs of liver dysfunction, it can indicate the presence of hepatic or biliary obstruction
- Specific Gravity (sg): Concentration ability of kidneys, supplement for other parameters
- Glucose (g): Early detection and supervision of diabetes mellitus
- Protein (p): Symptomatic of renal and urinary tract diseases
- Ketones (k): Metabolic abnormalities, indication of ketoacidosis
- pH (ph): Useful in relation to other parameters, pH of >9.0 tend to get lower protein reaction
